A special announcement for the All Blacks… and a departure they’ll never forget.
Hearing your name over the PA on your way to a departures gate is rarely a good thing.
Except when you’re the All Blacks. And you’re embarking on your first international flight of a World Cup year. And instead of a final call that you’re not gonna make in time, you’re being ambushed with shout outs from your biggest fans. And some eagle-eyed camera operators.
Air New Zealand have been the official airline of the All Blacks for over 20 years. To keep them on their toes and put a little wind beneath their wings, we wanted to give the All Blacks a send off like no other.
With the help of the airline’s flight attendants, we orchestrated the only kind of stunt you’d want to see a departure gate, capturing their genuine reactions to messages from real fans.
The results speak for themselves. The video became the brand’s most successful social campaign in 2023, and it was an even better year for the team too. Those two things are definitely related.
